Dear readers,
I’m sitting in a café, slightly frustrated with WordPress. If I’d known it would be this hard to set up a blog, I might have done it sooner or paid someone else to do it. Alas, I’ve started.
I don’t even know if I’m writing this on the right page, or if it’s grammatically correct, but it’s my first time launching a blog, so I’m giving myself some grace. I know I’ll get the hang of things with practice and consistency.
One of the main reasons I chose WordPress over Substack was because I wanted to challenge myself and create something I could build from scratch. Something that wholly belongs to me (until I have to repurchase the domain when it expires next year).
I’ve been journaling since the age of 16, I’ve gone through more pages than I can count. Now I’m hoping to transfer my own life lessons, reflections, and inner thoughts here.
It finally felt right to start this blog. It’s something I’ve been thinking about since I was 18, the idea would ebb and flow over the years. But at the start of 2026, I made a promise to myself to start and be consistent with whatever I chose to begin. This blog is one of the promises.
With love,
Rahma
